Click on Settings> Other Settings

Find the control tab. Click on that tab and find the little check box that says "Quick tap on play pedal locks play on"

Uncheck that box and your audio will only play so long as you are holding down play on the pedal.

I have installed Express Scribe on my new iMac. I also am finding that when I put my foot on the pedal it continues to play unless I tap another pedal. The Express Scribe for Mac doesn't have "Settings," but I did go to Preferences and uncheck the box there that says "Quick tap on play..." and it still continues to play when I lift my foot off. Any other suggestions? I have had to set pedal 2 for Play and pedal 3 for stop, but I have to believe that this program can work the same on my Mac as it did on my PC. Would make my life saner if I could continue in the same manner instead of having to move my foot all the time. Any help would be appreciated.

I downloaded the Express Scribe version for a Mac, but it will not play my doctor's .dss files that he sends me from a PC. I tried downloading NCH's Switch for a Mac, but it will not read the .dss file to convert them either. Does anyone else know what I can do to convert the .dss files to a file that the Mac version of Express Scribe will play, please?
