2 Questions -- URGENT!

Okay, this is super urgent because I have work to complete tonight!

This is concerning Express Scribe.

 

First off, when I click on the welcome message, for instance, it kind of skips, with long pauses, for a minute or so and then goes perfect. But this happens everytime I try to play it. It also happens for other files I have in there. This is a problem obviously.

 

Secondly, I'm using Xdrive to download the files from work, they're WMA files but when they download onto the desktop, theyre unplayable. They dont even have the WMA icon. Under properties, it just says, Type of File: File. I know thats not related to the Express Scribe but if anyone has any idea, it'd be helpful.
