Was on Version 6.00 but was given an update by support of 8.26

A couple of weeks ago my Version 6.00 crashed on me, and when notifying support of the crash they had me download a link that I found out later was 8.26, which I didn't know at the time. When I put in the registration code that I had for the 6.00, the 8.26 wouldn't accept it of course. I let support know but they won't reply and I cannot use the software at all now without the correct registration code. Do I need to uninstall completely and reinstall the 6.00?  I still have my old emails from when I originally purchased it with all info.
