Matching Voice Quality

I am trying to match two different voice qualities used buy the same vocalist on the same recording. In the first verse of the song, the voice sounds muffled and distant, while on the remaining verses the voice sounds normal. This was done intentionally by the artist. I am trying to change the voice quality in the first verse to match the remaining verses. I know how to isolate the section I want to change but don't know what to do next. I clicked on VOICE but got lost there.  I am using WavePad Masters Edition. I consider myself a "TECHNOSAURUS" (BUT NOT STUPID), so, if you can help me, please walk me through the process.
