  1. We are trying to use the free version of Debut in the classroom to record students in either flv or wmv formats so they can view their performances on our school network. The reason we are trying the free version of Debut is that our IT department must re-image our classroom computers several times a year and any software not provided by the University is wiped out. Therefore, we don't want to purchase a program that will exist for only a couple months. Also, we need not purchase more than we need -- the free version does the simple tasks we need. We're in the XP environment and are using a webcam to do the recording. Our average recording length is 5-10 minutes, but we are currently only getting a couple of seconds. Has the company changed the free version so it has this limitation, are we trying to install the wrong download, or is there something else wrong with what we are doing? Maestrogn
  2. I'm evaluating the free version of Debut. If it passes the test, I'll buy the full version for use in my conducting class. It is extremely helpful if the students can see videos of themselves as they learn to conduct. However, our network storage is not infinite and recording these in-class videos as flv files would help a great deal. Everything records OK. However, when I go to play the file back from within Debut, I just have a black screen and no video. Also, my independent flv player tells me that the Debut-produced file is not valid. What am I doing wrong? I also have no sound in any format, but I'll hunt down that problem later today. Just getting the flv working would be a huge help.
