Yes I have noticed this problem myself & the older version did NOT do this .

I also notice that when I load a small file -or any file, when I go to the menu on the right & click on "normalize" or any effects the program freezes & I lose my work, I find this very non productive & will have to

seek other programs to do my work as it is time sensitive & repair & answers to problems do not seem to be.

The "Plus" version is the licensed (i.e., paid-for) version of Switch. There is no Plus version of WavePad, despite the person whom you have thanked for his advice saying otherwise! The paid-for version of WavePad is referred to NCH as the "Master's" version. The free-forever version of WavePad is referred to NCH as "WavePad" :-)

well thanks for clearing that up for me hummm I was not even refering to switch, in the original post .

I purchased:

1 wavepad 3. then upgraded to the latest a month ago

2 purchased switch a yr ago

3 purchased express burn

I did not purchase support..

I have not recieved any form of upgrade news or anything, its like we just want your money...now vamoose.. well... just the truth.

I would think that NCH could send out a note to purchasers... hey... here is an updated version... or something.. this "MO" is not the best for word of mouth sales.. just my opinion.

may be when this law suit is over.. I will forget the name of the progrms I used.... to expose the truth.. oh well .

Wavepad isnt available for pocket PC at this stage. Its something we will be looking at doing in the new year. It may not have all the functionality that the Plus version has.

Hi is there a pocket pc that will support wavepad & all its function ? all the edit fuctions?

Hi I too am waiting for the VST & directx problems to be resolved. any dates yet for the update? rather disapointing that the program does not work well with vst's & directx just "hangs" when one trys to edit the settings. thanks hope to hear some good news soon I have 3 of the NCH products

Hi it would be nice if the direct x would work... & would have more routing options AKA file access.

both vst & direct x do not seem to pick up added DLL's for some reason & both seem to lock up all the time?

Also a "wrapper" or host that would work with wavepad,

& how do i get other direct x into program

& why will the program not recognize other DLL's even after reinstalling it

What do you mean Switch would not recognise it? After you drag the m3u file into Switch and press convert what happens? It sounds as though you're attempting to convert a streaming source... I don't believe this is possible with Switch, you should be using SoundTap for this.

Hi what I meant is that I clicked on the little file icon ,when it opened it sowed smoe mp3's but not the m3u files ,so I selected all files then selected the m3u & it would not recognize it. I understand now what a m3u is . sorry for the confusion I got add & it is not conducive to pathways. as I had said before I loaded one in the itunes, copied it, then pasted the url & dbl clicked on it & it opened a download of a useable mp3 so I achieved what I wanted.

An m3u file is simply a playlist, which tells your media player which audio files to start playing. Open the m3u up with notepad and see what type if media file you're attempting to play. If you simply copy the m3u file to your mp3 player it will naturally not play because you have not included the audio files.

 

What happens when you attempt to convert it with Switch? Also, are you using a PC or Mac?

I searched it out on the net, then I opened it in itunes, copied it ,pasted it , then dbl clicked on it, it went to the net & provided a mp3 to use. thanks for your help.

I purchased a fully operational program.....

1 itune will play it but the mp3 player I wanted to load it on did not recognize it.

2 I "purchased a program that said it would convert it but would not do as it stated= "switch"

I purchased 3 NCH products in June with no support I purchased switch to convert m3u files it does not reconize them....HELP? or is there a program I can use to switch these ?

Hi, because the background murmur of a lecture theater is a wideband noise source there isn't a neat way to do it. Selecting a period of noise to eliminate using the tools would help if the noise were not a random source (but it is).

Use the remove hum or hiss tool (left side of window) to apply a noise gate. It isn't an ideal application of the tool and it is likely to impact on the lecture you are listening to but is is an effective way of removing wide spectrum noise.

the "fidhtank " gurgling sound may be from taking too large of a sample taking a very small sample seems to get rid of the mishmash sound. it has anyway

I'm having the exact same problem when recording albums and find nowhere on this forum where to fix it. It's either live with the hiss, or be driven insane by the weird noises left behind after the subraction method. I did notice that this post went out in February - I was kind of hoping that someone had a fix by now.

It's now aug 21st & I am also waiting for an explaination on this "funky noise" are we grabbing to much sample? I purchased the program & would sure like the keys ty Dale

I have some tapes that i need to clean all but the voices I was told that voices are from 400 to 25-2600 mhz is there a formula for cleaning audio tapes these tapes were dubbed with a 4 track recorder (voices ) were put on How can I clean all the garbage out (what filters & what order) then what is the best sample rate to save said files? thank you Dale

Have you entered in your registration information into the program? You must inform Express Burn that you are a registered user for your name to appear there.

Thank you I got it down loaded & installed ver 4 the part that bothered me was when I down loaded it the 1st time & it would not update, sorry this gets confusing I'm trying it now going to see if it will burn a DVD now when it would not before. ty Dale

This seems to be a Vista related issue. It will be looked at when WavePad is updated next.
