Flynn Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Hi, I'm using the latest WavePad - and want to split this WAV at its bookmarks: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yplbpwx8oco1y038d0erz/Test.wav?rlkey=r8gakvfy12wzyjmg48wapt0f5&st=hvwtj2et&dl=0 The file contains 3 bookmarks - and I'm getting an "can not save" error message when trying to split the file at the given bookmarks: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hhforqm7kxuorg2yvhp5e/Error.png?rlkey=yggqp82bew0froqb8y66nnxej&st=l32sikdv&dl=0 I have this problem with ANY WAV file which contains bookmarks. Am I'm doing something wrong here - or is it a bug? Thanks for any advice. Regards, Flynn
borate Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Try a reinstall, or install the latest English release. Here, your file was downloaded and opened in Wavepad. The bookmarks were visible. Then it was saved and that file reloaded with bookmarks intact. No errors.
Flynn Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 No, that is not the problem. I'm talking about WavePads "Split at Bookmarks" feature. Saving and Loading works without problems. And I'm using the latest release after a clean install. Btw.: I tried it with the Mac version of WavePad - and here it works. It seems WavePad adds a (invisible) special char to the end of the filenames. A char Windows does not seem to like. My splitted Mac files were named "Test.wav_.wav". Please note the character bevor ".wav".
borate Posted November 29 Posted November 29 To get around it... Click <ctrl-shift-B> to open the bookmarks list. Right-click each bookmark and RENAME... Note the boxes next to bookmarks 1 and 3. When they are renamed those boxes will vanish and Split at Bookmarks will work correctly... Bookmark tests here did not cause the issue. Perhaps when created there name labels were somehow corrupted. For each bookmark added, the clip name and unique time were automatically written - like this...
