It worked then disappeared

I was happily recording with GOLDEN VIDEO stopped to take a nap, and when i came back to continue recording GOLDEN VIDEO would not work. no picture no sound. My wife has the same laptop I used her computer and it worked ,no problem.why  does it not recognize my puter?

Also the pic quality sucks!  I thought going from analog to digital  would be an improvement. P.S. a pause button would be GREAT!!! thank you.

P.S......was using golden videos a few minutes ...now when the recording is finished..when i push the NEXT button the whole thing freezes up.says... NOT RESPONDING!!!

I am happy to report....IT WORKS!...I clicked it on just for the hell of it and lo and be holed it WORKED. So now I am returning to putting my band vids on to dvd.
