Imported video files turn to audio files as soon as they are imported in the program

The video files I import into Videopad for editing are all changed to audio files as soon as they hit the program. This includes change of the label 'Video files' into 'audio files'.

I'm a 66 year old beginner and please don't send me any serious tech stuff because I would go bananas. Simple explanation will do if at all possible.

That has been seen with certain files.  What is the origin and format of these files?

Please share a single file and someone here will look into it.  It's not difficult if these steps are followed...

Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. (In OneDrive click Copy Link.) 

Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.
