On Windows, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure the app has permission to use your microphone. On macOS, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Microphone, and check if the app is allowed access. Input Device Selection: In the NCH software, make sure the correct input device (your microphone) is selected. Go to the Options or Preferences menu and under Audio or Input, select your microphone as the recording device. Audio Levels & Mute: Ensure that the microphone isn’t muted or set at a very low volume. Adjust the microphone level in the NCH software or via your operating system's sound settings. Drivers and Updates: Check if your audio drivers are up to date. Updating them can often solve recording issues. Make sure that the NCH software itself is fully updated to the latest version. Sample Rate Mismatch: Sometimes, recording issues occur due to sample rate mismatches between the audio input device and the software. Make sure that both the microphone and the recording settings in NCH are using the same sample rate (e.g., 44.1kHz or 48kHz). Windows Sound Settings: In Control Panel > Sound > Recording, ensure that your microphone is set as the default device. Right-click the microphone, and click Properties. Under the Levels tab, check that it is not muted and the volume is high enough. Reinstall the Software: If none of the above works, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the NCH software to ensure there is no issue with corrupted files. If the issue persists, NCH's technical support or forums might provide specific solutions for your particular version or hardware setup.
DrData Posted April 10 Posted April 10 This was shown somewhere else on this forum. The user said to connect a bluetooth device. I did,and it worked as advertised. To recap, ST was not detecting sound from my pc. Added a BT speaker, and bingo!
