Guest William
Hello, So, I downloaded the Express Scribe and installed it (Windows XP Pro) which took all of half a second. Everything seems simple enough, the welcome recording played, I fiddled with the buttons and thought--great. I need to transcribe an mp3 file (and it's definitely an mp3 file) But, I can't seem to get Express Scribe to load the file at all. In fact, no matter how I try to get Express Scribe to 'see' the file, it seems to be invisibile. I browse for files, using the browse button, and it just can't see the file at all. Am I doing something painfully, obviously wrong? Thanks...

Guest Guest
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> What did you finally do? I'm having the same problem and it's driving me nuts.
Guest Guest_Adam_*
I'd love a hand, too; I'm using the Load command and nothing is loadable (I'm using OS X on Mac). A.
Guest nchsh
Hi, To load an audio file do this: - Select Load - Select Browse Folders - Select the Folder Containing the Audio Files you wish to open - Click Choose - The files from that folder will now be displayed in a list for you to select - pick the file you wish to load - click load Hope that helps Simon

But all the .wav files on my Mac are greyed out in the browser-- not accessible, not recongized by ES. What gives? Thanks.
Guest Naomi
SOLUTION: What I didn't know until now was that I needed to go in to the Incoming panel of the preference settings and designate a folder where I would put the sound files, designate how I want the files to load and what file types I wanted it to load. This requirement wasn't mentioned in Express Scribe's help files, nor when I posted my problem to their message boards.
