david_wilcox@canaccord.com Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I'm new to the swtich software. I am recording my voice onto my computer using windows sound recorder (records in WAV) then I'm converting that WAV into an MP3 (using switch). When I try to play that MP3 with windows media player it won't play. Here is what it says. "The audio codec identified by the format tag 55 is required to play this file" If I download this codec and I am able to listen to the MP3 that I create, will my computer be the only computer that can play the mp3? I want to email these mp3 files that I create to clients and want them to be able to play them on their computers as well. any ideas?? Thanks in advance for any help, David
nchtj Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Try downloading the LAME codec and see if that helps. http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame-3.92-ACM.zip Extract the files, and right-click on the .inf file and select "Install".
