Windows 10 not recognising usb camera

My geriatric windows vista laptop picks up the usb bird box camera via the device button no problem at all, my windows 10/11 (will confirm later) laptop however will not, I’ve plugged the camera in and the laptop appears to register that it’s an ipcam and I can select the ipcam via the webcam option in the tools section but after pressing ok, it goes back to the laptops own webcam, any ideas please?

Try to update your drivers.  Make sure you have the latest drivers for your camera installed on your Windows 10/11 laptop. You can find drivers on the manufacturer's website. Also, you may want to try using a different port.
