Error on WMA to MP3 conversion

I'm trying to convert my WMA files that I ripped on my Windows Media 11 to MP3, but I keep getting an error that the files are not supported or that the correct codecs or plug-ins aren't installed. After looking at the technical support page, it suggested that DirectX not installed could be the issue. I installed the DirectX and I still get the error. Any support on this will be greatly appreciated.

If you at all have the oppurtunity, first off, it would be a much better idea to re-rip the files straight to Mp3 rather than to convert from WMA to Mp3 but if you need to do that then you could try a reinstall of Switch.

How can I re-rip without the source CDs? In the line of work that I do, I rip CDs that customers have in their cars. That was only like the first 7 or 8 CDs that I ripped on my laptop, everything else has been in MP3 format.

by default media player DRM encodes the files when ripping to WMA format, so we can't do anything with those files (because they are copy protected). in future turn the option off by going into the options -> rip music tab -> its in there somewhere
