italiangen
Hi. Thanks for taking my question. I loaded an MP4 file in VPE ver 12.12 and the audio is not loading. It keeps telling me that it is still loading. I'm running W10 updated as well. Thanks for your help. Peter D
borate
Version 12.12 is a beta test. Install this version instead. There's never a mandate to change versions. If yours is working well, consider sticking with it until a regular release has been out for awhile. The latest can always be test driven, to see what's new or changed. If that doesn't clear up the issue... Close the program, restart. Before loading anything, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. No change? Close Videopad, then right-click on its executable (the launch file) and Run As Administrator. If still no joy, please share the file, and we'll check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
borate
Thanks for sharing the file privately. Loaded up in just seconds here - even in v12.12. Try the suggestions above.
italiangen
Borate, I follow your instructions. The audio still doesn't load. Should I reinstall one of the previous version? http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-12-11-2022-10-08(intel).ziphttp://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-12-12-2022-10-14-64bitpaid.exe Peter
italiangen
Borate, I ran it as Administrator and it loaded the file properly. What does it mean that I had to run it as administrator in order for it to work? Is it a question of permissions? Thanks big time for your help. borate
Can't say why Run As Administrator has been required occasionally - it isn't here. You can right-click a shortcut to the Videopad executable, choose PROPERTIES | ADVANCED and set VP to always Run As Administrator. The current release is v12.13. italiangen
Thanks Borate for your help. I ran it as administrator as suggested and it worked. Since I am the only one on this computer and thus the administrator, aren't I running all programs as administrator? You can close this issue as answered . borate
No, don't think it works that way. Administrator here as well, but still need to specify that for certain programs.
