VideoPad has some great effects and transitions, but they just aren't enough sometimes.

What I'm trying to do is getting some text behind a tree in a video. Like how some text would be placed in 3D and it would partially be covered as a tree branch passes over it.

Fiddle with a transparent tree on a higher track than the text, which could be placed in 360.  Here, the face is the tree, the text is scrolled left to right.

So can I cut the tree out of the footage, place it in a higher track, and have the text under the track which the tree is in?

Is there a tool in VideoPad to automatically detect the tree and cut it out?

Hi

If the tree has a fairly uniform background colour....say just blue sky or white cloud you can use the Green screen effect to make this area transparent. Juggle with the settings to keep outlines as sharp a possible. Place the text on the Track 3, the tree on Track 2 and then replace the sky with a blue blank clip on Track 1........ e.g.
