VideoPad corrupts Audio track

I previously used VideoPad "at home use" for free to edit older videos recorded in .avi    It worked perfectly.  When NCH stopped offering the free version, I then recently purchased the licensed software v 11.53.  Right from the start and as soon as I loaded an .avi video and without any editing, the audio was corrupted;  garbled with cracking noise and unuseable.  The video track was OK.   Obviously the final product was unusable.  Because it corrupted as soon as loaded, there was no conversion to another format that worked.  I tried loading a newer video in AVCHD format for editing and all worked very well.  Any ideas why Video Pad is corrupting the audio track of an  .avi  video?   Is there any work around?   The use with .avi is why I purchased this software.

Since you are licensed, suggest that you upgrade to the latest paid 64-bit release.  Two AVIs were tested without problems.

No other reports of corrupted AVI audio have been seen, but folks here would like to analyze your file.  Please share it...

Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
