How to add time to audio clips?

Recommended Posts

I just want to edit some audio clips by adding some additional time between talking points.

I'm using version 6.32

I'm a complete newbie, watched the youtube tutorial that was mostly focused on video and didn't address this.

I searched the how-to section and because this is such a simple task (that I can't figure out), it's not addressed.

I'm creating a mp3 to play for my class and need to have 5 seconds between each talking point (group of audio waves on the timeline).

Right now the gaps between talking points range from 1 to 3 seconds.

I can't figure out what tool or method is used to insert additional time between the audio waves on the timeline.

Thanks in advance.

Drag them to anywhere along the timeline.

If necessary, use the chevron to the right of the SPLIT button beneath the preview window to split only the selected audio track...

image.png  You can also size a clip by dragging the [ or ] handle that appears when mousing over the clip's edge.

If the clips are linked to video (and don't need to be in sync), right-click on each and UNlink.  If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack - edit by edit.
