resolved Audio splits when adding images

Why does my audio file split when adding images?
How do I lock the sound tracks so they do not
change when adding images.

Is the audio linked to the video, as with most video clips?  Right-click on either track and UNlink.

Are the clips grouped?  Right-click and UNgroup.

Ahhh, the lock icon is not visible until u mouse over the dark area next to the solo button. It then appears grayed out until u click on it.
I'm thinking that I can now add "stuff" to the video tracks without harming the audio tracks.

Soo, can I join the audio tracks that have been split or just go ahead and delete the tracks and reload the originals?

Right-click in the gap between clips and CLOSE GAP.  Or drag the clips, so they mate.

Yeah, I think for clarity sake, I'll reload the originals and reset my fade points.

Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.  From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.  Then you will be protected should something go wrong.
