jacks0__
I am so furious right now and I don't know what to do. I've been working on this YouTube video for about 2 - 3 hours over the course of a few days. I've been using this software (VideoPad) and I loved it because it was so good and simple. Everything was working fine until today, when I stopped editing earlier and I decided to start again, and it said "The file provided is not a valid VideoPad project file." I was working so hard on this and based off what I read, everyone said I can't get it back. I would really hate to switch editing softwares because of this because I really like this software, but I don't think I have another choice. I don't want to redo the whole thing so if anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.
borate
Please check out this thread. And search the PC for VPJ files, which are created each time a project is saved. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That should protect you. Let us know. There may be other suggestions. Nationalsolo
Hi When you decided to start again, what were you trying to load? When you previously finished did you save your work before exiting the program? As Borate notes Save Project will overwrite previous saves and if you switch off before the process is complete the vpj file may be corrupted. If the system crashed then there will be at autosaved project file in Appdata/Roaming/NCHsoftware/Videopad that should reload. Nat
