Perry Matthews
Okay, so let’s say that I placed a video on my timeline. It was exactly at 1:10.000 when I initially made it, but when I opened it today, it was at 1:09.993. Has anyone had this happen to their projects? EDIT: Also after the video has been exported, sometimes, if not most times, the video seems to get displaced in terms of time. In my case, I had my subtitles show up at a precise moment in sync with what happens in the video, but in the exported MP4, this gets desynced. What could be the cause of this? Any help is appreciated.
borate
Don't recall other reports of this. What version of Videopad is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Share the project, with specifics on where the slip occurs, and someone will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
Perry Matthews
I was using v10.18 last night, but then I saw one of your posts here and switched to v10.17 to see if it's any better, but it seems that this problem persists.

borate
Export as an AVI. It's dead-on in that format here, using VP 10.26 beta 32-bit version. It's two frames off in mp4.
Perry Matthews
I haven't tried AVI before. Also, how does one check if it's he 32-bit version? And I'm not sure what a codec is.
borate
A codec is what's used to encode/decode files. Co (compress) DEC (decompress). Should make no difference whether 32- or 64- bit is in use, but you can tell by clicking the MENU 3-lined button at the top-left, then clicking HELP | ABOUT. Perry Matthews
Understood, thank you for clarifying. I've also checked the available version for VideoPad, but there doesn't seem to be v10.26. I'm currently on v10.24, and I exported my video as an AVI, but it still had the desync issue. borate
Retested AVI @ 60fps and this time it was off. But at 30fps it was perfect, whether the result was viewed in VP or in a player. Appears to be more of a frame-rate issue than codec. Even if it's slightly off, In real time the two events appear to be coincidental. Check this out, for a short while. Perry Matthews
I see. I'll settle for 30FPS, then. Thank you so much for looking into this. By the way, where can I find v10.26?
borate
https://www.nchsoftware.com/beta/vpsetup.exe Beware, beta versions may have undetected bugs and be unstable. It's not always wise to upgrade, if what you have is doing the job. But you can always check out newer versions. Just retain your registration info & instller.
