mrjarvis
I have been working on a project for a few weekends now, just a little skit thing for fun. It's 13 minutes in total, 8-tracks of video and 3 audio. I have no problem playing it in VideoPad, and I have not deleted any clips or anything, the project is intact in VideoPad - but when I export it (and I have tried MP4, MPG, and none have worked in Windows Media Player or VLC) random parts are blacked out. No video in these parts, but audio all throughout. Is there any way to fix this? It's very frustrating, especially as I've never encountered this problem with any of my other projects. borate
What version of Videopad is being used? What are the export settings? THE best way to track this down is for you to share the project. It's easy, quick and can be private. Someone will come up with an answer. Follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Click COPY LINK | DONE. Share --- Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. mrjarvis
So it turns out I'm an idiot. The solution is really simple, for anyone else with the same problem: In the export settings, make sure to have the Preset as Default, not Custom. Just for background info I'll give my other Export info: - saved to Videos folder - preset: default - resolution: 1848 x 1040 - widescreen fit: stretch - frame rate: smart max 45fps - subtitle: overlay
borate
It should succeed with CUSTOM resolutions as well, to a point. So the issue could be elsewhere - especially if there are multiple tracks or large UHD files. In any case, glad it worked out.
