Steve Luke
I am using Express Scribe 4.04 on a Mac iBook running OS 3.9.1. I dropped a wma file from an Olympus voice recorder on the open area of the main control window of Express Scribe. I used 'option select drag' to ensure my original file remained on the desktop. The wma file seemed to be accepted by Express Scribe, since its name appeared in the main work window. However, it would not play, and the duration read 00:00. This was unpromising enough. Then my original file on the desktop disappeared. I looked in the trash and it wasnt there. And Express Scribe has no 'undo' function. Where does Express Scribe put the sound files it is working with? I cant find any folders with Express Scribe files in them. In the open main window of Express Scribe, my missing file seems to be properly sitting ... but this is the only place on my entire system that a file of this name exists. A Finder search does not locate any file of the right date or extension on any of my drives. E-mail attempts to get technical advice just get bounced back. Hopefully someone can help.
