Is there a way to replace a blank clip in a sequence with another clip, without manually removing it and restoring the transitions around it?

I'm looking for something similar (potentially) to the 'Replace Clip File' available for other clips.

Hi

There isn't a Change Clip File option for blank clips  but Image clips do have that option.

I think you will have to do this manually......

If the project is fairly simple (single track) then jump the cursor line to the start of the blank clip and then Place the new clip at the cursor. Now delete the blank clip and close the gap.  Transitions at each end of the clip will have to be redone.

Thanks for confirming, Nat.  I had suspected this might be the case, after I'd already started work on the project.  It will be useful to remember, and perhaps use images for this purpose in future.
