Gustav Trinkaus
I have made a video with VP 7.24 as so many times before in "stretch" format, but for a hundred times it is always exported in "crop and zoom". Besides squeezed images and videos in the movie, most of the text is cut at the beginning and end. The video can bee seen here: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AshdRQuw07vVhkValE3Nw5KhUiIt?e=zxnqmY What goes probably wrong every time ?
borate
A matter of settings. Under the preview window, use MATCH MONITOR, to give a representation of how the project will look on your monitor. On the cut off scenes, be sure to type the text within the preview image boundaries. For images/videos that aren't scaling correctly, try applying the Letterbox to Aspect Ratio effect to them. In export, you should be able to select the A/R choice. Upload and share your video and someone will make specific suggestions. This isn't difficult, takes little time and can be private. Just follow these steps... 1. With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 2. Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* (Don't upload the export file or only the VPJ.) 3. Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link..." Then click COPY LINK | DONE. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
Gustav Trinkaus
Hi Borate, many thanks for your suggestions. Well, hint # 1 didn't work alone, although I changed to MATCH MONITOR. In export I didn't find any possibility named A/R. But I followed your hint to switch to Letterbox for images/videos. Finally, when I exported the video I chose 1920 x 1080 - 1080p-HD. Before it was set on Customs. I cannot remember if this was set with all the many other videos I made before or if it was changed sometime accidently. But in the end - it worked ! The exported video is as it should be now. As always, small mistakes can have annoying effects. Many thanks again. Oh, by the way: the exported video now is only about 1/3rd in size than all the exported versions before (1.45 GB compared with 4.8 GB). best regards Gustav
borate
Glad it worked out. The A/R referred to Aspect Ratio/Resolution for export...
Gustav Trinkaus
Well, that I did it right accidently (or caused by my unlimited wisdom .....)
borate
Extra points for that. 😄 Auto-match is but a suggestion, based on source files.
