Video crossfade

Hi there!

Could someone please advise me with the steps for how to do a video crossfade between two video clips?

I have already tried using fade out / fade in, but that is not what I want. I want a true crossfade. But every time I try to add the effect, the effect box just disappears without adding the crossfade. I'm sure I'm dong something wrong.

Side-by-side clips can have a Crossfade transition, as long as they are butted against each other and long enough to accommodate the fade.

Go to Storyboard mode.  That more easily spots gaps or short, unintended clips that might not be seen in Timeline mode.

I'm such a dummy! I just simply didn't see "Crossfade" in the transition window.
