How Do I Reduce Peak Level?

I am editing an audiobook and have submitted it to ACX for publication.  My file is rejected because I too am editing an audiobook.  It has been rejected.  My only holdup is that my peak is at 0 dB and needs to be -3dB.  What steps do I need to take to do this and how are these steps taken in WavePad Masters Edition 10.58 so that I can see where the peak currently is and make the adjustments?  Please help.  I've been battling this for two weeks and am pulling out my hair.  Douglas

You can also try "Normalize".

1. Select the clip you want to adjust

2. Go to Levels Tab, press Normalize button

3. Set Normalize Peak Level to -3db. Set Peak (if you want an Average Peak to have -3db, set Peak RMS)

4. Press apply
