MP3 can be loaded, but cannot play

Recommended Posts

The issue is with all the files or just with this file because could be the file also the problem? Try to reinstall. Uninstall your software first, then go to the folder location below on your computer then delete the Express Scribe folders:

C:\ProgramData\NCH Software
C:\Users\(Your computer profile)\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Express Scribe

If you can't find the AppData folder, set Windows to show hidden files and folders with the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files.

After deleting the Express Scribe folder, restart your computer then install it again.

I am a new user.  I have MP3 files that are 6 minutes and longer in duration.   I am able to open the MP3 files in Express Scribe; however, the duration of the file will only last a few short seconds:  28 to 35 seconds.   Help!  What am I doing wrong?

I am a new ExpressScribes user and have installed the software on a Windows 7 PC.  The software worked fine but then stopped playing audio files and giving me the following error:  Opening audio file failed.  Cannot open the file ... It is possibly either corrupt or not a true layer-3 MPEG file.  Has anyone experienced and solved this issue.  I have reported the issue to support but haven't received a resolution after 21 days so far.  The same files can be played on ExpressScribes installed on a Windows 10 PC.

If you can't find the AppData folder, set Windows to show hidden files and folders with the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files.

After deleting the ExpressScribe  folder, restart your computer then install it again from the next link:  https://www.nch.com.au/components/essetup.exe
