first time nch recording pc audio with wave pad, there's an annoying rythmic beat when recording

looks like it accompanies the flashing decibel meter on the bottom right of the wavepad window

can this be silenced?

In this case make sure that you are using the correct device, go to your Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Sound then select the recording device that you are using, the external mic or the internal one.

On WavePad select Options then the Recording tab, make sure that you are using the same device,. On the right down corner, you would found  the sound mixer that would help you too. If you still getting issues, please send the information to the Tecnical Team here: https://www.nch.com.au/support/supportcontact.html?software=WavePad

It is a metronome feature just added

can be closed by either two ways below:

1. Click the green "Menu" button on the top left, go to "Control" -> "Record" -> "Turn metronome on / off"

2. If your WavePad has the toggle button "Metronome" in "Record" tabbed menu, it can be easily closed by clicking that button
