Archive old invoices

Recommended Posts

In theory, you could, but you might end up with orphaned files if you don't move the associated credit notes, etc. We haven't tested this and it's not supported.

Please feel free to file your suggestion at http://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html. That's the easiest way to ensure that your idea is evaluated for possible inclusion in a future release.

It is sad, that the makers of this software just don't respond to this issue. Every invoicing software I ever used before had the option to get rid of old data. At this moment my Express Invoice  is extremely slow , very annoying and unresponsive. I would like to just get rid of at least some invoices so it works properly again.

I couldn't gather up enough courage to move the data from back end on my live machine. I hope someone from NCH team can do experiment and update it here. so we can do manual archiving at least. They can always declare it as "UN OFFICIAL, No Warranty given".

Josh, What you think? Can you help?

I wouldn't recommend manual archiving. If you manually move data the associations between the invoices, payments, customers etc will be broken. If you readd the data at a later date, those associations might not be restored.

The best approach is to file a suggestion at http://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html so that your request is on the developers' radar. If enough people express interest, this should gain traction and be implemented.
