chattwest
I'm using Debut in grad school to record counseling sessions. However, the fan noise is drowning out the dialogue. MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) 3 GHz Intel Core i7 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB Thoughts??? I bought a separate HD webcam that I can mount away from the computer. Maybe that is the quickest, least expensive fix. But if there's a solution on Debut or Mac, let me know. Thanks!
macfly
Are you using the Macbook Pro's internal mic? You could probably try enabling 'Use ambient noise reduction' under System Preferences' Sound -> Input setting . An external mic is indeed a a better alternative. chattwest
Thanks! I'm going to start using an external mic. And I'll take your advice. Even more pertinent to my problem that I failed to clarify is the fact that running Debut (and only Debut, no other apps do this) heats up my computer really fast; like, within 2 minutes the cores are soaring above 100º. Is that normal, or can I run Debut in such a way that it will not demand so much on the CPU?
macfly
The following could lower the CPU consumption of Debut 1. In Encoder Settings change the video compressor to MPEG4 (from H264) and lower the quality/bitrate to Medium Quality 2. In Video Options lower the frame rate (e.g. to 10 or lower) 3. Resize Debut's window to the smallest possible size
