Clipboard managers

I work on a Mac and use ClipBuddy to manage my clipboard. Is it possible to stop TextExpander from copying expanded text to the clipboard so that it is not saved on the clipboard and therefore appears instead of text edits done manually as the user writes? As a journalist, I write a great number of words in a working day and invariably cut and paste between documents etc. If I cause TextExpander to insert a word or phrase into my text, I do not want to insert it again when I use Control and V to insert text saved by me from a document I am working on - it is most frustrating. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
