Must record desktop

I just purchased Debut and have a question.  If I want to record streaming video, such as a tv show or movie do I have to have it visible on my computer or can I do other things on my computer once I get the recording started?

Hello,

You would need to have it visible while recording from screen. If you have a second monitor, you can use the "Draw a selection area" option to record just one monitor and continue working on the other screen. Click the Draw selection area button, which is the first button to the left in the panel, to draw a new screen selection using the mouse. While holding down the left mouse button, move the mouse and draw a rectangle to capture on the desktop. Click the "Select" button to lock in your selection and return to the main interface to start capturing.
