Problem setting up Emails

Please help - going crazy!

Spent three days trying to configure my emails on Express Accounting. 

I use a MacBook, have tried two email accounts (iCloud and yahoo), disabled my Mcafee and I'm still get the same pop up message;


Email authentication username or password not accepted"

Ive tripple checked and my email, password and SMTP details are all correct.

Please can anyone help?

Hello Layacc, this issue could be caused by extra security settings in your email known as two-step verification for Yahoo or Two-factor authentication for Apple ID, so you may want to check your email security settings or contact your email provider for assistance on setting up the two-step verification.  Once that is done you may go back to Express Accounts and when applying the emails settings it should work.

Hi Chris75, Thank you for replying. 

Ive checked my iCloud (preferred email address) and the two-step authentication for Apple ID is already set up and active.

However, I can't see anywhere in the NCH 'email settings' in which to enter a verification code...
