Automatic Ducking Control

I am trying to record radio programmes with music clips and voice recording. Obnoxiously I want the music to reduce in volume when the voice track is playing. The Automatic ducking control in the track menu should do this...only it doesn't. I've tried changing the settings as yto which track is the base track but it doesn't work Also when I try to do it the volume on my mike track reduced to almost nothing. I think there is a level setting somewhere Im getting wrong but I can't find it. Help !
