Recording a region of screen stops recording and starts a new one when application closed

Hi all,

 

I select a region of the screen to record - not a window. In the docs it says "When the selected window is closed Debut will automatically stop the recording"

 

However, I'm not recording a window.

 

I'm doing a video on Game Maker so the GameMaker editor is running, then I run the game it's making which opens a new application 'the game' and when I've finished demonstrating the game I hit close, Debut stops that recording, starts another and then I'm back the Game Maker editor.

 

It's only recently started happening, and doesn't happen at home.

 

How can I stop it from doing that please? I can't find any options to change that.
