Losing dictations

I am testing Express Dicatate (with a purchsed license) and I am losing dictations. It seems that the .dau files are the sound files, and the .ddf files are the headers that tell the software about the sound files. All of the sound files are there, but no .ddf files for random dictations. (1-10 are OK, 11-12 missing .ddf, but not .dau, starts up again at 16 on the next dictation.)

Has anyone else ever ran into this? There seems to be no documentation on it, no response from NCH when emailed, and no information on the .dau file format. Is there a way to recover these things, or is my best option to move to something like the Philips package?

Thanks in advance.
