Sequential selecting clips to storyboard from longer item (clip)

I have a video with audio, that i want to pick out a clip, drop it to storyline. Then move on and pick a second clip move to the storyline etc.

I just cant find the instruction.

I can do this easily in Corel software.

One way to accomplish this would be to first drop the entire clip on the timeline, then split-out pieces of it and drop them to a second video track. When done, remove the initial track.

Make your splits, then simply drag the desired sections to the other track.

Another way is to drop your complete video onto the timeline as Borate suggests, and then split it at the start and end of each section you want to keep. As you make the splits right click the sections you don't want and select "Delete the selected clip".

Now right click the gap where the deleted section was and select to "Close the gap"

You will finish up with your shortened video on the same track.
