Wavepad Effects automatically boost amplification problem

Hello

In Wavepad when I add an effect like equilizer (even set to flat), the amplitude of the waveform seems to increase at least 50% sometimes clipping the wave after I save it. Is there a setting I can use that will stop this annoying problem?
