WMV format is not supported

I am using the free version, 5.56. I have transcribed videos before. However, this is the message I get when trying to open my file. "The WMV format is not supported by Express Scribe."

 

On the NCH site it lists WMV as a supported file type.

 

Any ideas what I could do or am doing wrong here?

 

Other info:

Using Windows 8 (the only thing different from last time I used ES for transcribing video files).
