.dpf file to .wav problems

I converted files from another computer and then transferred them to be typed - I get the codecs error - it says that they are wave sound files but E. Scribe won't open them - please help

I've got a portable MP3 player which had an inbuilt mic I can record with. I can download to my computer and play them on Windows Media Player, but nothing else will open it. I want to put stuff onto CD's for friennds, but it wont work.

 

they are 'wave sound' files.

 

How can i convert these to MP3's or wav files???????
