Reset default word processor program

I am just installing express scribe on a XP. I need to change the word processor that comes up when I click default word processor. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Thanks.

First, make sure that Windows' file associations are set correctly for the file type you want to use. i.e., If you double-click a file of that type, does it open the correct word processor?

 

Then, if you don't want to use a DOC file, in Options -> Other -> "Template Documents" you can add a new template document and set it as the default template.
