MP3 plays in winamp, but can not be converted

I have an MP3 file that plays in Winamp, but can not be converted. In Windows mediaPlayer I can not play the file.

During conversion into MP3 using switch the a message pops up saying that it either not an MP3 file of the file is corrupted.

Any thoughts
