hi

With the now much more affordable and very much better sounding (16/24/32 bit -->192 Khz) usb-->s/pdif converters on the market i use solely my pc ( laptop) as a music server.

However i have all my music files ripped from my CDs in 16 bit /flac format.

How can I use Switch to convert 16 bit flac to 24 bit flac except the cumbersome way of changing 16 bit flac back to 16 bit wav, and convert 16 bit wav in 24 bit wav and then into 24 bit flac?

Also is there a direct way from ripping a cd directly into 24 bit 96 khz flac? As soon as i select the output format flac all bit choices (8-32) disappears

thx

You've probably resolved this by now, but there's no advantage converting to 96k or 24 bit if your original files are from CD. CD is only capable of 44.1k 16 bit, so that's the highest resolution file you can get off it. Converting to 96k or 24 bit just gives you much bigger files with no better audio quality.
