ogg

Great little app., so just a small question I couldn't find covered in the forums.

I have a series of .ogg encoded files from uni lectures (thus, vocal & not musical) covering 2 languges. They are fairly low bitrates but, oddly, great quality (~8mb per 30 mins). Oh the power of .ogg :D

My problem: I want them on my iPod for listening practice, & thus need to convert them to either mp3, aac(m4a/m4b etc) or other. My personal pref. is for aac mp4a (renamed to m4b to allow bookmarking / resuming on the ipod) but i'm stuck on which bitrate to go for.

.ogg files are mono ~ 40kbps, hence the small size, but converting in Switch to m4a gives pretty large sizes (even compared to mp3s of similar time).

What bitrate should i set Switch to convert to, and are there any settings which are preferable for mainly vocal-only files? 40kpbs settings makes them small but sound fairly bad, which i dont need for languges!

Sorry for the long question, just setting the scene :)

Thanks to all for your help, and to the developers of this great app!
