Crashing

Hi  I'm a new member of this forum but have been using Wavepad free version for some time now (currently it does all I need to do right now) and I've had much fun with it. I am now using the latest version 4.03. I have a Vista Ultimate 64bit PC and Wavepad runs fine.

The current problem I have did not occur with the previous version so I'm assuming it is a bug as it has happened often now following the same key strokes. My mouse specs and my hands have not changed in the meantime.

The sequence of strokes to create the crash - not responding...so you have to terminate the program and then loose whatever you were working on &*^%$#@ - follows.

1.Record something either through speakers or line in doesn't matter.

2.Click somewhere on the recording and it is not obvious that you have actually highlighted a very small region which would loop if played.

3.Click 'Normalize to optimal level' then it goes into it's 'not responding' phase and freezes or crashes however you want to describe it and you have to task manage its termination to loose your recording and start all over again.

In the previous version this did not happen if you did click on the recording or you had trimmed one end and in doing so you had created a loop region rather than putting the marker at a particular point it would 'normalize' that very small part.

The other thing I'm finding is that it is more difficult to just click and have the marker there without creating a very small loop region.

I'd be grateful for any advise from long term users, and Wavepad programmers to write a fix in the program so it doesn't freeze as I'm sure this would occur with the paid version as well.

However I'm very grateful for the free version.
