MP3 files...will not play

I am doing some transcription so my client emails me some MP3 files to transcribe. She said she created the MP3 files from itunes. When I put them into express scribe they are there, but nothing will play. I try to open the files in real player, etc. and they will not open in there either. Any suggestions? Many thanks

Are you sure the files are mp3 format? iTunes does have a tendency to put files loaded into it into MPEG-4 protected format, so I suspect it may have done that.
