Fiscal Year end

Once I have done all my postings, been able to print my Profit and loss Statement and Balance Sheet reports as well up to Dec 31, 2008 inclusive, HOW DO I CLOSE MY YEAR TO START MY NEW OPERATIONS FOR 2009?

If not go to Options

Select the Company Tab

You can choose your Fiscal Year End: in that screen.

Which in effect selects your new starting year.

There is no year option, only month option here.

 

How do I prepare accounts for a previous fiscal year.

I set the end of the fiscal year as above then closed EA, set the computers date to the last day of the previous fiscal year, opened EA and entered all the transactions.
