Corrupted avi output files

I am trying to use the MAC PPC version of Prism to convert from flv and mov files to avi. The resulting avi files appear to be corrupted. When attempting to play the resulting files using quicktime or realplayer, I get a black screen with no sound. If I insert the resulting files back into Prism, they will play, but the "other information" column says "unknown codec or corrupted file".

I am using a 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 and OS 10.4.11

Finally, if I try to change the (avi) encoder options -> video compression settings, no matter what number is selected, I get the following error message: "Wrong video bitrate specified, must be from 1 to 9000"

These problems are consistent and repeatable.

I tried to send a bug report and got the message to download a patch. When I did it, the program would no longer run, saying that it is not supported on my system, the same message I got with the Intel MAC version of Prism. So I changed the program version to 1.23 and was able to submit the bug report.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Thank you
