John170109
I am trying to convert a flv file to mpeg. The file is 20 mb and plays in windows media player. When i click convert i get msg "could not open source video file". I have downloaded and installed the K Lite Mega Codec pack and restarted my machine but still get the same problem. Any suggestions please
jida's girl
I have run into this problem in the past. My situations was that I didn't realize I was trying to pull from a shortcut rather than from the actual source itself. I now always go into options and change where I have the file to land, or take from. Other than this situation, this is all I have to give, if you find new clues I may be able to help you further. ~JG

No answer anywhere to be found on this very serious issue.

Any suggestions please Hi, Please go into options, and tick the option on the conversion tab to "Use ffmpeg first". This will use the ffmpeg encoders rather than using the ones on your computer. so if you are currently having troubles, This option may fix them.
